Sunday Roast & Chainsaw Lady

So I’m having a great day today and it’s only late afternoon! We had a lie in this morning and then we went to our very favourite cafe, ChouxChouxbedo on Newton High Street. They have recently changed their menu to include slightly more substantial hot food and today we had a Sunday Roast with Beef. I’m not going to lie, it was delicious – clear plates from both M & I with virtual silence whilst we were eating, well apart from the odd groan of appreciation!

Roast Beef (medium), Yorkshire Pudding, carrots, cabbage, broccoli and roast potatoes.

Whilst we were contemplating pudding, Mr P (co-owner and pastry chef) brought out a complimentary  mixed fruit crumble with custard for us to try.. Needless to say it was divine and we immediately ordered another one!! I’m afraid I don’t have a picture, we gobbled it all up too quickly…it really was THAT nice. yummy.

After CCBD we called in at the station so I could collect my train tickets for tomorrow’s visit to Leeds and then we went to the craft fayre at Kenyon Hall Farm. M’s sister and her partner used to run the fayres last year, but they have recently given it up. I might be biased, but it wasn’t as good.. It felt a little amateurish, hey ho.

We met these little dudes just hanging out.

But one good thing that came out of our visit, was the lady was there that does chainsaw sculpture was at the farm. We bought our garden toadstool from her last year and we have commissioned a piece of wood that can hang in the garden with “YNWA” carved onto it. Now I know most people would associate this with Livepool FC and it’s true M is a Livepool fan, but actually it’s something we had in our wedding vows.

Regardless of the football connotations, I really love the sentiment behind it. “YNWA” stands for “You’ll never walk alone”…. Which is part of what marriage is all about..and that’s why I love it.

We are back home now and just chilling out…feels good.
