Red Bank Coffee Shop

Yesterday we didn’t really know what we wanted to do and so decided to just go with the flow. We have joked in the past that we were the kind of couple of that only really did one “thing” a day and marvelled at the type of people that rush from place to place all day long!

Today we started off by visiting Red Bank Coffee Shop which is here:

There has been a farm shop there for quite a while, but we noticed via the wonderfulness that is Twitter that they seemed to have opened a coffee shop.  We hadn’t seen it advertised anywhere, not even at the end of track it is on that people drive past, so we did turn up wondering if we had heard correctly.

However, when we got there we found the shop front newly clad in timber and the shop inside opened up to reveal the cutest cafe! So before you ask, yes the shop and butchers is still there, there is just a missing back wall and an extra room that now houses a lovely little cafe.

We were pleased to find they do breakfast items till 11:30am and lots of other scrummy stuff, sandwiches, tray bakes, muffins, fruit etc etc. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast and a pot of tea and M ordered a breakfast panini and some water. All was lovely and if anything M couldn’t finish his panini as he got too full! Now my only thing about an otherwise lovely cafe experience, was that the teapot they served containing my tea, leaked quite a lot when poured and the tea cup was tiny.

I have a real issue with tea pots or milk jugs that don’t pour properly and because mine didn’t, I ended up using my napkin to clean my saucer and the table.. But tiny things like this are inconsequential when I’ve got a belly fully of lovely food πŸ™‚

A lovely addition to Newton-le-Willows, I am sure we will be back!
