Hello everyone – it’s January

Ok I am just going to say it, January is a crappy month. Christmas is over, we have all made New Year’s resolutions that we have kept and it feels like a LONG time till Summer.

I am renowned for booking holidays around this time of year because I feel like I need something to look forward to. This Christmas break was a really very good one and so I wasn’t quite as fed up this year so it’s taken until about now for the January blues to kick in. I have been looking at all sorts of holidays for us to go on, but honestly with the impending BREXIT it seems like the prices have SHOT up!

In September 2016 M and I had our very first European holiday at the Tivoli Victoria in Portugal and when I tried to re-book the SECOND we got back, it had tripled in price!!! I have checked religiously ever since and even though the price has gone down, it’s still almost double the original price. So that’s a no go.

I’ve looked at city breaks, beach holidays and various Staycation options, and eventually we have decided on a holiday strategy. Basically we have a long-term plan of going to Florida and/or Washington in 2018 and so we are going to forego a big holiday this year. We have got a couple of mini-breaks booked to the Lakes and to Anglesey but other than that – we are staying home this year.

I just need to the dark nights to get a little lighter and things will start to feel a little more normal – whatever that is!

Anyway, to cheer myself up – here are a few photos to throwback to Summer Holidays….
