So I posted on Friday that I wasn’t a fan of Valentines Day and after this weekend it seems that my opinion of it hasn’t changed. I am not going to go into loads of detail, but our niece was taken ill on Saturday afternoon and was rushed into hospital. She has been discharged today, but we had a rubbish couple of days.
It did mean that on Saturday night M and I had to firstly entertain our eldest niece and her friend by doing one of the most disgusting challenges for my YouTube challenge:
Then we had her to sleep over, which was an experience for us all….
But before all that, I did have a lovely afternoon in Manchester with my friend Karen. She used to be my manager back in 2007 and we have remained friends. We walked to China Town for some lunch and then good old Starbucks for a hot drink – it was FREEZING!! Manchester was looking glorious and it easy to forget just how amazing the architecture is:
I would love to show you a picture of Karen here, but she isn’t into technology like I am and selfie might be an anathema to her. But please know, she is very lovely and we had a great afternoon.
Anyway, it was sort of a weekend of two halves, with a lovely afternoon, following by a stressful evening, a cancelled Valentines breakfast, a hospital visit and chicken pot pie. Ho hum. The thing to remember is that every day, new slate and NO is a complete sentence.
