So what a wonderful day I had yesterday. As you may know by now, I work for The Prince’s Trust, which is a national youth charity that was set up by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1976.
Every year we hold an awards ceremony called Celebrate Success and this is held to recognise the achievements of the young people that have been through our programmes. There are 7 categories and we hold regional finals around the UK and then from the regional winners in each category, the national finalist are chosen.
This year was particularly exciting as one of the teams that I look after won the regional final and were chose to go to London to attend the national finals!!
The team was from Skelmersdale and the young people were on our Team Programme from September to December 2014. As part of the Team Programme they have to chose a Community Project to undertake and this team chose to renovate a community garden at a counselling service close to their college base. They fund-raised and worked really hard, staying late and coming back at the weekends to make sure the project was finished on time and beyond that, they really bonded and found lasting friendships.
Why not check out my vlog and a few photos of the day to see how they got on……
