I love being in a choir, the sense of being part of something is lovely and of course, singing is a completeley uplifting and mood brightening things in itself.
That is why we are gutted our choir has lost it’s funding and we are currently in the process of trying to raise funds in other ways. One of our lovely sopranos Mel arranged a fundraising craft fayre in which we performed. I have to say we had an awesome day!
M and I got there about 9am to help set up, but actually Mel had done most of the work herself. The stall holders began to arrive and we officially opened at 11:00. There were craft stalls and book stalls and M and I manned the cake stall. Lots of people turned up ready for our performance at 1:00pm and we sang for about 45 minutes.
But do you know what the most exciting thing was.. we raised £730 on the day, which is being brilliantly part matched by Barclays bank so we have raised almost £1300!!! Which is just brilliant, I was very proud of us all.
Of course I did a vlog – why not check it out, see if you can spot me singing?!?
And here are our photos:
If you have every thought of singing just for fun, we are a no audition choir that practices at The Citadel Theatre every other Wednesday at present.
Why not come along
