If you have been following my YouTube channel, you may have seen my recent VLOG about our trip to Aber Falls… if not take a look:
But I also wanted to write a small blog too, as we had such a wonderful day. Firstly, I found out about Aber Falls quite by chance as one of my new Twitter friends Tilly Button, recomendded that I try out BLogLovin (which I did) and one of the blogs on there (I forget which one) had a post about Aber Falls and made it look beautiful.
I googled it and found that it was about 1.5 hours away from our house and we made plans to visit. In fact, the falls are here:
From our house, it was fairly easy drive, with mostly motorway and a dual carriageway. In fact we were so far down the A55, that we thought we couldnt have possibly got the correct post code for the sat nav. But sure enough, we turned iff and up a windy village road and along a single track road and after 5 minutes we landed in the Aber Falls Car Park.
There are 2 sections to the car park and the top car park has FREE toilets and it was bargain at £2 to park all day! The walk starts off at quite a steep pace, with about 20 minutes of long, slow uphill. I am exceptionally unfit and I did wonder whether or not I was going to make it all the way to the falls, but at a certain point, it did flatten out and became much easier. Phew.
The walk to the falls from the car park took about 1 hour and it was 100% worth it. They are stunning, I mean I have never seen anything like it. This area of North Wales is categorised as and “Area of Natural Beauty” and I can see why.
I would recommend this as a day out if you are ever in North Wales. It was stunning and we loved it.
