Footstool revamp

Footstool revamp

Sometimes we buy things and they barely last a year or two and then sometimes we buy things that stay for a LOOOONNGGG time. We bought a couple of fairly basic footstools about 10 years ago and they have sat faithfully next to our couch since then. We mostly just use them to rest our feet on, but over the years the have been seats, horses, tables and footballs.

So when they started to look a bit worse for wear and the faux leather jacket started to crack and break, we initially did consider getting new ones, but they we had a genius idea! In our local coffee shop, there is a crafter called Lisa Bee Textiles and I approached her via Twitter to see if she either took commissions or to see whether she would be able to recover our stools?

She agreed to do it and told us to look on the John Lewis website for fabrics as there was a shop in St Helens that sold very similar ones. I picked a fabric and lo and behold we have the most amazing covers for our footstools!! I picked them up this afternoon and I am UTTERLY THRILLED… talk about before and after!!!!
