OK Ok OK, I am little late writing this blog post up, but yanno… sometimes life gets in the way… Also, I DID film a vlog, so I will let you have a look at that..
So as you can see, we did have a wonderful time and honestly the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester was really very very VERY good! When we were there, we found out that the hotel was part of the “Pride of Britain” hotels which is a group of some of the most exclusive hotels in the UK. I was more than a little chuffed to find out that I have stayed at nearly all the ones in the NW of England!
- Armathwaite Hall – we went here on Honeymoon
- The Chester Grosvenor – see above 🙂
- Gilpin Lodge – Had afternoon tea here last June.
- Holbeck Ghyll – Had dinner here in 2010.
Before I ever stayed in “fancy” hotels, I was always worried that they might be too posh for me and the staff would be snooty. I can honestly say that I have alway found quite the opposite to be true. In all the above hotels, the staff have always bene nothing but courteous, polite and gave me the impressions that nothing was too much trouble.
It’s worth mentioning that I have also had dinner at both Claridges and The Berkley in London and stayed at The Hilton on Park Lane and M has had a massage at The Dorchester and we both had lunch. ALL Were for special occasions and ALL were magnificent!
I am not sure I could pick a favourite as they were all great for different reasons. The Grosvenor was pretty up there though.
