An unexpected benefit | Getting Healthy

An unexpected benefit | Getting Healthy

So it’s just occurred to me that a real unexpected benefit – or non-scale victory of eating healthier is that not only do I/we cook more, but I am eating and crucially not buying any ready-made food.

Before I started this, I would typically buy a sandwich, packet of crisps and a bottle of pop for lunch, which after a quick look at Tesco comes to:

  • Tesco Hoisin Duck Wrap – £2.90
  • Walkers Baked Crisps – 60p
  • Bottle of Fanta Orange Zero – £1.15
  • Total Spend: £4.65

*******************************************

  • Total Spend for 1 work week: £23.25
  • Total Spend for approximately 1 month: £93.00

*******************************************

So if you are any good at mental arithmetic, that’s £1,116 a year!!! Which is astounding really. So is it any wonder when I have just been doing a usual check of my funds to find I have a little more than I usually have at this time of the month.

So maybe I should put the extra money to good use – start saving, so maybe as I lose lbs, I gain some £s!

G x
