Well this is an exciting little post to write as I went to my very first blogger event last night in Liverpool. Kilner invited me along to their pop-up shop event hosted by Rex Concept store on Bold Street.
When I got there I was met by some lovely ladies from Kilner who gave us a very warm welcome and even the opportunity to build a freak shake in a mini Kilner jar…
It was really fascinating to hear that the Brand Kilner was born from Ravenhead Glass in our very own St Helens and that the Kilner operation in still in Merseyside and based in Speke!! I LOVE that such a cool brand is very firmly based in the North West!
The event that I attended was a blogger event to showcase some ace Kilner products and I have to say I was very impressed. The Kilner jars and products were all on shiny display and there even things for us to nibble!
It’s worth mentioning at this point that I didn’t venture to my 1st event alone, I went with my partner in crime that is the wonderful Tilly from Lavender Lemonade. We had a fab time trying all the lovely foodie bits and bobs that the Kilner peeps had put on, including having our names piped in Chocolate by a local chocolatier, The Chocolate Cellar.
There were flavoured gins and cucumber waters from enormous Kilner jars with taps as well as some AMAZING clip tops jars filled with savoury Tabbouleh and lots of sweet Lebanese yogurts topped with honey, dates, strawberries and pistachios..
I think Tilly’s favourite thing was the spiralizer we were shown, which seemed so easy to use and I did manage to have a go – I may now be a courgetti convert! Tilly was also obviously impressed as she ended up actually purchasing one!
I really couldn’t decide what I liked, it was all so great but it really did give me some ideas on recipes I want to try. In particular I am thinking of trying the recipe for Christmas Chutney. Sounds just yum!
I had a great night and of course we finished the night with a selfie (or two) what else?
Thanks for inviting me Kilner, it was ace…
p.s. when I got home, M tried some of of the foodie bits from Kilner…. he LOVED the pistachios, honey and yogurt.. happy boy!
